*This position is located in Rosemont, IL, just outside of Chicago by O'Hare Airport. It requires the individual to be in-person 2x per week and does not provide a relocation package.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Data and Research Analyst will be responsible for collection, management and analysis of all AANA data. In addition, the Data and Research Analyst will recommend and facilitate research projects to support myriad AANA initiatives to further the focus on and impact of AANA Research. The Data and Research Analyst will serve as the liaison to the Research Committee, various related Task Forces and Work Groups as assigned, and provide research survey and result analysis support for the Education and the Learning Center Committees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct market research to identify industry trends and educational gaps in AANA programming.
Provide business insights through data collected using qualitative and quantitative research.
Design research strategies to assess quality and performance improvement leveraging data assets within AANA and from other partners/outside sources.
Manage the data collection from Orthopaedic Learning Center courses (PBT metrics from the Foundation courses, Copernicus, VirtaMed simulators and SOMOS) and create receptables to house data for ease of access.
Maintain and organize SOS data registry.
Develop and maintain databases for all initiatives.
Provide statistical and analytical expertise in the interpretation of data.
Serve as liaison for AANA Research Committee including management of the Research Grant process, growing the scope of the AANA Research and leveraging outcomes from AANA funded research projects.
Contribute research, findings and insights for potential new business development.
Create KPI’s utilizing survey and iMIS related data for leadership
Assist with ad-hoc statistical analysis for both internal and member projects
Guide development of the AANA data pipeline by evaluating data streams to make sure they meet the needs of both AANA data structures and the AANA client data needs
Ramp up Google Analytic data storage, insights, and assessments of user behavior on AANA.org

Manage AANA Surveys webpage to guide interested members and non-members in submitting surveys, assisting research committee reviews, and IT in creating the survey post on AANA.org
Assist leadership with the MAST military research grant project development, including literature review, communication, timeline creation and project roadmap monitoring
Manage communication, timelines, and project related work for all research activities internal (staff and member) and external (industry) focused as guided by the Executive Board, CEO and Research Committee chair
Assist AANA leadership with the writing of research protocol related documents
Lead efforts for external research funding such as TENEX research and other Research Collaboration Partnerships
Other duties as assigned by the Vice-President, Education and Research and the Chief Executive Officer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to plan and direct multiple projects, budgets and resources simultaneously.
Experience with data management software.
Ability to learn business case uses for data analytics and research at AANA.
Ability to interface with volunteer leaders to shepherd projects and problem-solve with diplomacy and focus on AANA mission, and individual project goals.
Must be an effective analytical person/problem solver.
Strong analytical eye and critical thinking skills.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Self-reliant and adept at queries, report writing and presentation of findings.
Ability to interact effectively and work congenially in a small office environment and with outside vendors.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Effectively work and collaborate with volunteers and other stakeholders at all levels.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in science-based field with quantitative experience is required, Masters’ degree a plus.
Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience is preferred, with 2+ years’ experience as an analyst preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office and association management systems (e.g., Microsoft CRM/iMIS) as well as Survey Monkey and myriad analytics software.
Knowledge of advanced statistical methods through training and experience.
Experience with health-care terminology and related data is strongly preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard office equipment. Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Majority of work is performed in a general office environment. Some day and overnight travel are required to participate at AANA events.
