The Certification Specialist is responsible for supporting the Certification Programs Manager with managing ACTFL’s Rater/Tester certification and recertification for human-rated ACTFL assessments. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
• Process certification and recertification applications & requirements for new OPI, OPIc, WPT, and AAPPL candidates
• Manage the certification database, to include creation and maintenance of candidate applications and progress, updates certification data in all localities, receives and verifies program invoices, monitors submission of certification assignments and mentor feedback.
• Collaborate with members of the PL&C team to ensure that ACTFL maintains standards that uphold our ACE accredited assessments.
• Maintain certification data integrity
• Administer certification/recertification courses within ACTFL’s Learning Management System.
• Provide customer service for candidates (e.g., enrolling participants in courses, providing troubleshooting, coordinating logistics, hosting weekly office hours) as needed.
• Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to host monthly webinars for testing community
• Represent ACTFL positively, communicating effectively regarding protocols, procedures, and policies related to ACTFL certification programs via email, discussion boards, telephone,
meetings, and virtual webinars
• Liaise with the PL Coordinator and PL Program Admin by establishing proactive
communication patterns with workshop attendees and workshop facilitators to share information about certification options.
• Participate in communication/marketing activities, facilitating positive interactions with the World Language Community
• Collaborate with LTI staff, ACTFL’s test provider, to ensure lists of certified testers and raters are up to date for official testing
• Facilitate data-driven decision-making through meticulous collection of program records and communicating about program activities, needs, and requirements
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Associate degree or three (3) years of relevant work experience and a minimum of two (2)years of experience in customer service-related field preferably in an association or non-profit organization
• Experience working in a virtual environment using tools such as Zoom, Google Meets, Google Drive, e-mail including scheduling meeting.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365, with solid Microsoft Excel preferred
• Strong organization, planning, and time management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively, cooperatively, and collegially in a virtual results-oriented environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skill
