The Private Directors Association® (PDA) is the premier professional nonprofit organization for private company governance. Our purpose is to enable and enhance the value, growth, and resilience of privately held companies through effective governance. Created in 2014, we serve more than 3,500 members, with 20+ Chapters located throughout the United States.
PDA is seeking to hire a full-time Communications and Marketing Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, the responsibilities for the position include writing, graphic design and social media, as well as other communications and marketing-related functions.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
Designing compelling graphics and graphical elements that enhance PDA’s messaging
Writing content for website, social media and newsletters
Editing and proofreading, with effective delivery of communications through high-quality graphic design elements
Assisting in social media account management across multiple channels, adhering to a consistent and effective social media strategy that engages audiences
Assisting with PDA’s overall marketing efforts, including securing and working with sponsor and exhibitors
Integrating video elements to augment, enhance, or in some cases, replace written/print communications
Serving as staff liaison to committees, as needed
Other job-related duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum of two years relevant work experience, preferably with an association or nonprofit organization working with members and/or Component Chapters
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and the Office 365 environment
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (including InDesign, Illustrator, Canva, and Photoshop) and other design-related software
Competency using tech platforms including Zoom and automated tools
Skills & Abilities:
Highly organized, with attention to detail and accuracy
Reliable and dependable, with ability to work efficiently with a high level of autonomy and meet deadlines
Strong written, graphic design, and oral communication skills
Ability to collaborate with others to achieve meaningful outcomes
Possesses top-notch member service-oriented skills
Demonstrates a positive attitude and professionalism serving private companies, executives, and other business professionals
Ability to travel, if requested, on a limited basis to attend staff events or provide on-site event support
