A successful candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, and managing a variety of marketing and communication materials, including website content, quarterly publication, social media posts, email campaigns, and more. A requirement of the position is to work in the office in Alexandria, VA. Core hours M-F from 10am - 2pm.
Responsibilities:
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Work with the Editor to format the quarterly magazine, The Submarine Review, using Word Doc and InDesign
Edit and proofread all communications materials, including newsletters, press releases, social media posts, and marketing collateral, ensuring they are clear, concise, and error-free.
Develop and execute marketing campaigns, including email marketing, social media marketing, and online/print advertising.
Monitor and analyze metrics to measure the success of the organization website and adjust strategies as needed.
Proficiency in social media platforms and experience creating and executing successful social media campaigns.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
1+ years of experience in communications and/or marketing, with a focus on editing and content creation is a plus but not required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Basic knowledge of SharePoint preferred but not required.
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign required. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs preferred but not required.
Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS), SEO best practices, and Google Analytics preferred but not required.
