The External Relations Specialist (ERS) provides support related to the implementation and fulfillment of CoSN’s External Relations comprehensive sponsorship program, professional learning and policy and advocacy activities and events. The ERS plays an essential role in providing excellent customer service and efficacy of CoSN programs. She/he also works collaboratively with the Conference team to support conference registration and solicit support for the Advocacy Auction and Fundraiser.
Reporting to the Senior Director of External Relations the External Relations Specialist is responsible for the following:
Manage project tasks, timelines, benchmarks, deliverables, and resources.
Collect and monitor data tied to strategic plan benchmarks and progress for external relations including sponsorships, professional learning and policy and advocacy.
Assist in building agendas, taking notes and dissemination of meeting minutes/notes.
Collaborate in development and distribution of sponsorship fulfillment to ensure the timely delivery of sponsor benefits.
Cultivate and maintain relations with sponsors and potential partners to ensure continued support.
Monitor and record fulfillment deliverables and timelines associated with various CoSN events to include the Annual Conference and CTO Clinics.
Assist with onsite management of the EdTech Exchange.
Assist Director of Professional Learning with setting up courses in Membersuite and monitoring registrations.
Assist in tracking committee membership including both institutional and corporate sponsors.
Assist Director of Professional Learning in analyzing data for program evaluation.
Post webinar and podcast recordings on CoSN website.
Work with the Director of Meetings and Conferences to fulfill conference related sponsorship activities, coordinate exhibits, and incorporate information into the conference website and conference mobile application.
Maintain sponsorship areas across CoSN main website, Conference website, and Conference mobile application including updating sponsor and exhibitor listings, updating logos and descriptions, etc.
Assist the Director of Meetings and Conferences in ensuring all sponsor deliverables are fulfilled with conference collateral (sponsor listing in program, signage, etc.), and review of all marketing collateral for accuracy.
Occasional travel required (CoSN national conferences, staff meetings, and other travel as needed).
Other duties that support the CoSN mission, but not enumerated here, may be assigned to this position.

Effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to interface with internal and external contacts
Ability to work in a team, as well as work independently
Flexibility and the desire to take on additional responsibilities
Four-year accredited bachelor’s degree
Ability to learn and coordinate Zoom meetings.
Ability to work with Docusign platform.
Office365 including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and Publisher
Nice to haves:
One to two years of relevant experience in project management, association administration, fundraising and/or meeting planning
PMP desirable but not required
Demonstrated capacity to successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Familiarity with database management software, working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn and master new software (This position requires you to leverage technology to be effective and efficient)
Knowledge of the Education Technology industry as it relates to CoSN membership
Knowldege of MyCadmium
