Under the direction of the Chief People Officer, the Internal Project Manager (PM) is responsible for providing overall project management across departments supporting new strategic initiatives (projects) as well as developing project plans for departments that have cross functional activities. The PM will coordinate people and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. You will lead teams through the project life cycle by planning, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking the project plan. You will monitor activities and deliverables to track progress against the project schedule, resolve or escalate risks and issues with stakeholders, and successfully deliver quality project requirements on time. By assembling and developing the project team, you will ensure maximum performance and provide purpose, direction, and motivation.

What you’ll bring to the job:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline and a minimum of four years related work experience. A combination of education and work experience may take the place of degree.
Project Management certification (PMP) required and a minimum of two years related work experience preferred to include planning and executing projects, assisting with multiple complex projects, strong project management skills with attention to detail.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent analytical skills.
Advanced competency with collaboration tools such as Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
Demonstrated ability to adhere to deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with project management software is preferred, preferably Smartsheet.
Proactive follow-through is required.
Self-starter and strong prioritization skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team member and excellent organizational communication skills.
Proficiency using the Microsoft Suite.

What you’ll own:
Create long and short-term plans, including developing objectives and setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
Lead strategic initiatives project plans as prioritized by the senior leadership team.
Lead project kick-off meetings in developing guidance documents (or project charters).
Responsible for task management, reporting to stakeholders, leading regular project meetings, and the overall project schedule, including delegating tasks on projects to employees.
Serve as a point of contact for teams when multiple departments (or units) are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
Provide guidance, training, and resources to ensure all projects are delivered on time within scope and budget.
Facilitate problem solving, ensure resource availability and allocation, and escalate issues to prevent scope creep.
Develop a detailed plan to monitor and track the progress of the project and adjust schedules and targets as needs and priorities change.
Measure progress performance using the appropriate systems, tools, and techniques and report on progress to relevant stakeholders and leadership.
Attend Endocrine Society staff, Board, and other Endocrine Society leadership meetings as needed.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendor partners and/or consultants as needed.

This position is located in Washington, DC and walking distance to Metro and major bus lines. The Endocrine Society offers a flexible, hybrid work environment.
