The Manager, Events and Department Operations develops, coordinates, and manages speakers and logistics for conventions, symposia, and general conference plans and their related arrangements. Conducts or assists in contract negotiation for event facilities and related contractors (e.g., audio-visual, catering, internet/telecommunications, housing, and other similar event support elements). Manages onsite operations and logistics for, and/or otherwise supports in all conventions and events. Additionally, handles coordination, office management, budgetary tasks, and correspondence for the Defense and National Security Department as directed by the Executive Vice President.
College Degree or equivalent experience required. CMP or like certification preferred. 5-7 years event planning and management desired.
Normally works Monday through Friday, however, may work weekend dates pending the event schedule. Must be willing to travel as significant, but predictable travel is required.
