The National WIC Association (NWA), located in Washington, DC, seeks a full-time Business Partnerships Manager to join its diverse team of eighteen dedicated professionals. NWA is a high-impact non-profit, member organization that represents more than 2,000 service provider agencies that offer quality nutrition education, breastfeeding support, health care and other social referral services to women and young children in over 10,000 WIC clinics nationwide.
The Business Partnerships Manager will promote the National WIC Association as the go-to voice for the WIC program - serving as the primary source, disseminator, and conduit of information about WIC and as a leading advocate for WIC-adjacent priorities, including nutrition, maternal health, breastfeeding, and anti-poverty issues.
The successful candidate will have a strong track-record in sales and business relationship-building, experience selling conference exhibits space and sponsorships, and an ability to lead with energy to position partnerships discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
In collaboration with the Leadership Team/Member Services Team Directors, developing and implementing recruitment and retention strategies to grow NWA’s exhibits sales, sponsorship programs and paid-partner programs.
Coordinating partner benefit fulfillment, including onboarding of partners, organizing focus groups, webinars, disseminating materials, and updating NWA’s partner lists and website.
Managing all aspects of exhibit and sponsorship programs for three NWA conferences per year.
Coordinating quarterly meetings of Business Council Partners with NWA’s Board/Executive Committee, and staff.
Developing surveys and tracking partner, exhibitor and sponsorship satisfaction, making recommendations for refinement or development of new benefits and opportunities.
Developing exhibitor, sponsorship and partnership promotional and marketing materials.
Minimum of 3- to 5-years of consultative Sales/Project Management experience required.
Demonstrated experience in collaborative development, implementation of short-term and long-term vision, and strategies to achieve targeted sales and relationship-building objectives for paid-partner, exhibitor and sponsor programs.
Results oriented individual with proven sales success in managing and selling conference and events sponsorship and exhibit opportunities.
Proven track record of bringing in $250,000 Exhibits and Sponsorships revenue/conference or event.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 4 times per year to NWA conferences and events.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Experience partnering across departments and teams to implement new strategies.
Insights into the corporate landscape in the nutrition, public health and food policy space are a plus.
Familiarity with non-profit membership organizations is ideal.
