Full-time position – hybrid remote

CGP has an immediate opening for a Director of Membership. The primary objective of this position is to develop meaningful experiences and coordinate valued services for members to assist them in their professional careers. The Director is responsible for the strategic and operational management of membership programs and services, recruitment, and retention.

The National Association of Charitable Gift Planning (CGP) is an independent 501(c)3  national association serving all professionals active in charitable gift planning. With approximately 7,000 members nationwide and a network of nearly 90 councils, CGP sets standards, promotes best practices, provides professional development and is a national voice in advocacy for charitable giving. Responsibilities:

The prime responsibility of the Director of Membership is to develop and implement programs and services for members and councils. They will also formulate internal operations policies for individual and council membership processes, billing, and database management. Oversee training and supervise policy implementation related to membership management.

Collaborate with the marketing and communications staff to develop and implement comprehensive membership communications procedures to recruit and engage individual members and councils.

Work closely across administrative staff to identify and implement relevant and valued programs and services and their delivery to the membership.

Oversee the CGPLink online member community on the CGP website. Establish strategies for increased member engagement by advancing the integration of the community into a broad spectrum of organization activities.

Serve as liaison to council leaders to provide technical and governance support, articulate policy, resolve problems and build relationships with the national network of councils.

Serve as lead program director of the annual Council Leadership Summit.

Develop and coordinate partnerships with member service providers and vendors.

Required Qualifications     

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree, plus two years of progressive work experience. Association experience in membership, marketing or education is a plus.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead projects or initiatives. Skills to strategically identify, assess, and implement relevant programs from the member’s perspective. Ability to present the organization in a professional manner both to internal constituents and the public. Desire to explore and initiate partnerships with aligned organizations and vendors to enhance member value. Ability to work independently in managing projects and creatively and collaboratively in a team setting.
