The American Association for Justice (AAJ®) is seeking a Director for its Political Action Committee (PAC). AAJ works to preserve the constitutional right to trial by jury and to make sure people have a fair chance to seek justice when they are injured by the negligence or misconduct of others—even when it means taking on the most powerful corporations.
The PAC Director is will be primarily responsible for the growth, compliance, and management of the AAJ Political Action Committee (PAC) in a fast-paced political environment. In this role, the Director will be the point of contact for managing multiple responsibilities in support of the AAJ PAC and support a variety of research, relationship building, advocacy and operations.
Duties include the following:
- Serve as the AAJ PAC Treasurer. Responsible for signing and filing AAJ PAC reports, authorizing expenditures and monitoring contributions with respect to compliance with federal election laws.
- Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day management and administration of the AAJ PAC; including supervision of PAC employees.
- Develop and manage the AAJ PAC administrative budget.
- Plan and execute ongoing AAJ PAC solicitation and communication activities and campaigns to increase receipts and participation from AAJ’s membership and its state affiliate members.
- Prepare and submit all required FEC and state filings. Work with General Counsel and outside counsel as needed to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Interview congressional candidates with CEO and provide expertise and strategic insight on congressional races and outside group funding proposals. Provide political talking points as needed.
- Primary point of contact for all DC-area and out-of-state fundraisers. Manage all AAJ PAC disbursements and coordinate with lobbying team on all fundraisers.
- Coordinate with state affiliates on PAC fundraising efforts and congressional candidate vetting.
- Manage and coordinate AAJ PAC board and committee meetings, PAC events during convention and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 8-10 years' experience in federal, state, issue and/or electoral campaigns with most recent experience managing a federal PAC.
- Extensive political experience with campaign and campaign compliance including familiarity with IRS and FEC requirements relevant to political activity.
- Demonstrated ability in increasing PAC revenue and membership.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Experience in the planning and execution of political and electoral campaigns and programs.
- Demonstrated track record of leading and managing a team to reach monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.
- Experience working with high-level executives, contributors, and volunteers.
- Must be a self-starter, have strong oral/ written communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment. Outstanding judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to think independently and collaboratively while prioritizing daily workload.
- Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office systems, knowledge of PAC software is a plus.
- Travel required for meetings and events (approximately 30%).

**The American Association for Justice (AAJ) requires all employees to show proof of vaccination, including booster vaccination.
