THE POSITION
The Manager, PAC & Government Affairs provides general administrative, legislative and political support to the government affairs department. Specifically, manages and supports the organization’s political action committee (PAC) and lobbying disclosure requirements. Also provides support to the Executive Vice President of Government Affairs, Vice Presidents, and Directors on the Public Affairs team.

We are looking for a dedicated and committed professional to join our Government Affairs team.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
RILA PAC & Lobbying Disclosure Responsibilities
- Develop and implement fundraising and communication plans designed to increase PAC giving and participation as Treasurer of the Retail Leaders PAC.
- General administrative support including maintaining records, drafting communications, and political contribution disbursement.
- Work directly with RILA PAC board and member PACs to identify and execute coordinated PAC events.
- Remain current on PAC compliance requirements.
- Responsible for preparing and the timely filing of all PAC and lobbying disclosure requirements.
- Regularly update government affairs team on all upcoming filing dates.
- Communicate regularly with internal RILA finance team and third-party vendors that support RILA PAC functions and lobbying disclosure requirements.
Administrative and Legislative Support
- Draft and send emails, updates and correspondences for RILA committee members and schedule meetings and conference calls with member companies.
- Maintain department data bases, distribution lists, schedules and key documents (issue briefs, position papers, etc.).
- Provide legislative and political research assistance as directed.
- Administrative support for relevant committees, work groups and committee meetings (virtual or in-person), to include handling logistics, meeting space, invitations and day of event execution.
- Assist department with writing and reporting responsibilities (i.e., proofreading, editing, dissemination of reports and articles, newsletters etc.).
- Directly assist and support bi-annual RILA Government Affairs Committee meeting each fall and spring (virtual or in-person), to include handling logistics, meeting space, invitations and day of event execution.
- Maintain open conversation with government affairs team about office processes and ways to improve on them.
Required Skills & Experience
2 years of similar experience required. Previous experience in working with a Political Action Committee (PAC) and an understanding of PAC compliance and lobbying disclosure filings is highly desired.
Bachelor’s degree, interest and/or studies in Political Science, Communications, English or a related field.
