The Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA) is the trade association representing medical products distributors. HIDA members deliver essential medical products such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), testing supplies, infection prevention products and surgical supplies to the nation’s hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories, home care, and physician practices.
Established in 1902, HIDA is a leading voice on matters important to the healthcare distribution industry as well as the healthcare supply chain as a whole. HIDA offices are located in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia and operates on a 3 days in-office, 2 days remote schedule.
The Senior Manager, Virtual and Continuing Education is responsible for virtual educational content, distance learning and managing a professional certification program.
This position manages the operation and administration of HIDA’s Accredited Medical Sales (AMS) training program, webinars, and educational content at our virtual conferences. The AMS sales program serves over 1700 sales professionals in the industry. This position ensures AMS users and licensees are enabled and engaged to successfully use the program, earn AMS accreditation, and maintain their certification. The Senior Manager will oversee registration, speaker management, and continuing education for all education programs and events.
The Senior Manager role works closely with the Director, assisting with program planning, education and speaker management for the education based virtual conferences as well as other department deliverables and deadlines to include budgetary and logistical objectives.
The ideal candidate should have a background in meeting and event management, education, or program management. They should have knowledge of event and education technology including virtual meeting, speaker management, learning management, conference app, and/or registration systems.

Virtual Conferences and Webinars
• Ensures maximum participation in virtual events thru member engagement working closely with the Membership team.
• Support the Director of Education in program planning, professional development, content, and speaker management.
• Incorporate live conferences with virtual components where appropriate to maximize educational reach and value to members.
• Collect and assess evaluation data from participates. Utilize the evaluation information to make process improvements for future programs.
• Produce and manage webinars.
Online Training
• Manage the Accredited in Medical Sales (AMS) online training program’s content to ensure information is up to date and new content from virtual events is appropriately integrated.
• Monitor and improve the AMS website to ensure the site is compelling and user-friendly.
• Oversee operations of the learning management system.
• Monitor course and website usage such as areas of greatest demand. Utilize findings to enhance website. Work collaboratively with Director of Education on enhancements.
• Supports the accreditation process including overseeing AMS exam administration
• Provides customer service, guidance, and support to licensees and users as needed
• Works with membership team to recruit and retain licensees.
Other duties
• Support planning and execution of live conferences as needed.
• Manage conference registrations and logistical needs.
• Coordinate social media outreach efforts across education, marketing, and membership teams to help market education programs.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure that HIDA’s member contact lists used for education program marketing are accurate and comprehensive.
• Occasional travel to events as needed.
Reporting and Working Relationships
This Senior Manager should be able to work both independently and as part of a group which may include staff, vendors, volunteers, and association leadership. This position will report to the Director of Education.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Three or more years of experience in education related project management, planning and/or execution.
• Experience working with Educational Virtual Events, a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Excellent project management skills: very organized and detail-oriented, ability to manage multiple priorities, overlapping timelines, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Strong written and oral communication skills including grammar and spelling, and proofreading.
• Public speaking skills is a plus.
• Strong customer service orientation with both internal and external customers.
• Takes initiative and is a self-starter.
• Ability to work as a team player and team leader combined with the ability to effectively interact with members, staff, and external contacts.
• Competency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management software (iMIS).
