We are looking for a dynamic meeting professional to plan and ensure the success of the association’s annual conference & expo, committee, board and region meetings, educational events, and support for the association’s district meetings. The Director of Meetings and Exhibitions is responsible for contract negotiation, logistics, supervision, and planning for all IAOM meetings and events. The position is also responsible for exhibit sales, sponsorship and advertisement solicitation. Domestic and international travel is required for this position.

Education and specific skills you should have, include:

• Strong communication skills with proficiency in developing written communications and the development and delivery of verbal presentations before groups
• Ability to manage effectively within available resource allocations
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, certification and association experience preferred
• Minimum of five years’ event planning experience (international experience a plus)
• Experience with exhibits (sales, decorator relations, etc.)
• Experience dealing with customers at all levels within the organization and its member base
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision, excellent time management and organizational judgment, and skills that facilitate managing multiple priorities and concurrent projects
• Demonstrate competence in all MS Office suite applications, association management system and WordPress knowledge a plus
• Significant travel required (including some international)
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills (Spanish a plus)
• Ability to work with individuals with various cultural backgrounds
