The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) is a thriving professional medical society dedicated to optimizing patient care and improving lives through minimally invasive, image-guided treatments. Position Summary:
SIR is growing and has an exciting new role to fill; the Member Engagement Manager. In this position, you will serve as the primary staff liaison to various committees and sections to plan, develop and implement their annual work plans and projects. You will work with the society's membership to support section initiatives and increase membership interaction and involvement. The Member Engagement Manager communicates with departments across the organization to ensure awareness, efficiency, and reach of their projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills and the ability to build relationships with all levels of membership and staff.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
Membership Engagement
- Support members and foster society engagement by serving as the primary staff liaison to committees and sections, including the Diversity & Inclusiveness (D&I) Advisory Group, Wellness and Burnout Committee, and Association for Chiefs in Interventional Radiology (ACIR), and the NP/PA sections.
- Develop and manage an annual budget for assigned committees and sections.
- Plan and implement various International Division programs, including the International Scholars Program and International
- Group Affiliate benefits and programs.
- Promote collaboration among the section chairs, other member leaders, staff liaisons, and other key influencers and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with fellow section liaisons to ensure that sections operate within their scope and that their projects are aligned with and supportive of the society’s strategic plan.
- Participation in occasional evening conference calls and/or webinars
- Ability to travel to meetings and other activities related to the position
Volunteer Development
- Nurture a strong leadership pipeline of engaged members, including a comprehensive orientation program for section leaders. And serve as a resource for best practice, resource identification, and innovative ideas.
- Develop recognition programs that acknowledge the outstanding achievements within assigned sections and their activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Association Management database systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with employees at all levels in the organization.
- Ability to work on multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to critically analyze data and identify trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to deliver presentations and facilitate focus groups.
- Proven experience in program implementation and evaluation.
- Ability to detect small issues and problem solve before they become larger challenges.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Advanced degree and/or certification in professional field preferred
Experience:
- 1-3 years of progressive membership and/or volunteer management experience in an association environment.
- Proven track record of building strong relationships and partnerships.
- Proven ability to work in collaborations leading committees or other volunteer groups
- Strategic project work including problem-solving and decision making.
- Familiarity with the budget process for revenue and expenses.
