The Exam Development Specialist is responsible for organizational examination development activities to ensure adherence to the ENA standardized exam development processes. This role guides the standardized development of the cognitive assessments associated with key ENA courses to ensure the strong link with the high-quality education while promoting examination security and content integrity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures adherence to the exam development process while collaborating with internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders.
Manage end-to-end organizational exam development processes from development of content outline/exam blueprint, cut or passing score, item development processes, item banking, item pretest and exam administration. Ensures exams assess current, accurate, and relevant emergency nursing content.
Serve as an administrator for item banking application which includes but is not limited to: creating users, assigning rights/permissions/settings, and troubleshooting as needed.
Manages ongoing exam development processes including establishing exam form rotation schedule ensuring appropriate allocation of items according to approve content outline and using item statistics and pretest items.
Fosters exam development process and principles by promoting knowledge, understanding, and implementation of best practices in educational measurement with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure exam performance over time.
Serves as a staff liaison/support to committees and/or work teams responsible for the development or revision of educational products containing examinations. Develops agendas, materials, reports and disseminates information to appropriate individuals and groups.

RN, BSN required
Minimum 1-year of experience working with exam development and promoting knowledge, understanding, and implementation of best practices in educational measurement.
Experience in facilitating and leading item development sessions and managing remote SMEs
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
Emergency Nursing Experience
Master’s in Nursing with an education emphasis
ENPC, TNCC instructor experience
Experience with psychometric data analysis
Learning Management System (LMS) and item banking software experience
Project management experience

Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment. Requires ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an exchange of information; collect, compile and prepare work documents; set-up and maintain work files, participate in meetings. Use of the computer, with repetitive motion, is approximately 80% of the time.
Majority of work is performed in a general office environment. Occasional travel may be required.
