The Urgent Care Association, the largest trade and professional association representing the urgent care industry, is recruiting a Development Coordinator to play a key role in managing fundraising activities and generating support to advance the organization’s mission.
Reporting to the Chief Governmental Affairs Officer, the Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating some fundraising and special events activities, communications with corporate donors, and digital communications strategies for both the Urgent Care Association and its 501c(3) affiliate, the Urgent Care Foundation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provides support to Chief Governmental Affairs Officer, Development Manager and Corporate and Chapter Relations Director on development activities and corporate donor engagement;
Administers and manages Raiser’s Edge donor database, enters gifts, coordinates acknowledgements, adds and facilitates entry of new records. Maintains accuracy, prepares reports, assists Development Manager in implementing strategies. Prepares accurate donor recognition and other donor stewardship activities;
Coordinates and creates legislative alerts, analysis and messaging on a monthly basis;
Assists in planning and coordination of a minimum of 3 special events and fundraisers; Provides administrative support for events (examples currently include annual gala and after party, industry conferences, political action committee campaign events, etc.);
Coordinates records with finance department including monthly reconciliation and integration of donor and volunteer records;
Works independently with limited guidance and direction.
Bachelor’s degree preferred;
Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience required;
Experience working closely with professional, donor or client constituent groups vital;
Ability to travel a minimum of 3 times per year;
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT or other similar software;
Strong organizational skills and the ability to establish priorities essential.
The Development Coordinator should have qualities of integrity, industry, and curiosity. They must have an energy level that ensures high quality productivity on a timely basis. They must be capable of exercising good judgment and confidentiality in dealing with volunteers, donors, and staff and must have patience and understanding of the needs of others;
They must be independent, accurate, and reliable. Must be able to perform effectively under the pressure of demanding deadlines, and work with limited supervision/instruction. In addition, he or she must be able to make decisions quickly and react in an appropriate manner to solve problems;
A team attitude is necessary to work with internal and external constituencies;
Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment required;
