Our membership includes clearing firms, exchanges, trading firms and commodities specialists from approximately 50 countries as well as technology vendors, law firms and professional service providers.
Working within FIA's Member Services Department, this tech-savvy individual will manage and build FIA’s data repository in its association management system (AMS) with attention to security and confidentiality. They will assist with data quality assurance, development of technical documentation, and other data stewardship tasks. This individual should champion the value of unified data and insights that drive the enhancement of the FIA member experience around the globe. This individual will also be a leader in the continued development and adoption of our AMS platform that integrates key digital tools and modernizes the association’s processes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Serve as the technical lead of our AMS, be a champion of the system, and serve as a trainer and advocate for FIA’s global staff.
Be the primary knowledge expert for FIA’s AMS and provide end-user support, including problem diagnosis, correction, and documentation. Field requests and gather requirements from end users for database needs and enhancements.
Troubleshoots and maintains the integrity of data in the AMS, including creating new fields, setting up process flows, SQL stored procedures and triggers.
Develops specialized objects (compiled code) or Scripts as needed within the AMS, and develops and installs customizations within the system to enhance its functionality.
In partnership with Director of Membership Data and Services, evaluates current database processes and recommends changes that improve efficiency and use the capabilities of the AMS.
Assist staff as needed in setting up, testing and processing event registrations, subscriptions and other industry related resources and products.
Provide reporting and data analysis for event registration, membership retention, etc. using AMS reporting tools and BI tools. Create new dashboards, views, and base views within the AMS.
Establish and document standard operating protocols (SOPs) and business processes for data maintenance and governance.
Lead internal group of database users. Supervises other staff, consultants, and temporary help on data entry or database development projects as needed and as directed by the Director Membership Data and Services.
Assists in integrating the web user login portal via Aptify's SAML SSO with third-Party services. Manages all third party integrations.
Troubleshoots and maintains E-Business management of Aptify.
Other duties as assigned.
Degree from a 4-year college or university with major coursework in computer science or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in relational database programming and working with an AMS (Association Management System). Aptify experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience with:
Microsoft SQL Server databases and development of relational database-based reports
.NET platform, programming languages such as VB .NET or C # and web application framework such as ASP .NET to develop web applications and web services.
Ability to undertake relatively complex management tasks within the functional area with minimal supervision.

Previous membership association experience preferred
Ability to handle many projects simultaneously, pay attention to detail, and integrate projects with requests for immediate help, ensuring follow-through while managing conflicting schedules and deadlines.
Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools a plus
Advance skills in MS Office with a particularly strong skill set in MS Excel
Excellent analytical skills, as well as accuracy and attention to details

Able to work with colleagues and members in different time zones
Able to travel for conferences
