AAPC is looking for an Event Coordinator, focusing heavily on AAPC’s conferences, to join our Events Team. This team is responsible for external, high-profile events, HEALTHCON, Regional conferences, and Virtual Meetings. In this position you will work with AAPC members, various boards, prospective members, sponsoring partners, and employees. The Event Coordinator must be vigilantly detail-oriented, possess the highest degree of integrity, have a keen eye for troubleshooting problems and solving them.
The right candidate for this position will possess the following characteristics or experience:
3-5 years’ experience in events industry planning large scale events, with proven success in hybrid (live and virtual) conference environments.
Strong attention to detail
Innovative problem-solving and critical thinking skills a must
Efficient multi-tasking and organization abilities,
Experience working with events industry vendors and suppliers
Goal-oriented attitude and passion for number-crunching
Friendly but firm customer-oriented disposition
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, both internal (e.g., IT, Supporting Customer Service Teams, AAPC Staff, Marketing, etc.) and external (e.g., Attendees, Board Members, Local Chapters, Volunteer Staff, etc.)
Assists Events Manager on event logistics and small additional projects
Coordinates with other individuals and departments appropriately
Ability to work 100% remotely due to COVID restrictions.
Comfortable traveling 3-4 times per year for site visits and onsite coordination.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
Telecommuting is allowed.
