Position Summary Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Value Officer’s primary responsibility is keeping AAHA focused on defining, creating, and delivering value for its individual members and corporate partners. In doing so, the Chief Value Officer will have both internal and external facing responsibilities, ranging from overseeing sales, business, and partnership development to growing the value delivered to - and revenue derived from - individual members. This includes the creation of new products and services that continuously enhance the value delivered to both individual members and corporate partners. Roles and Responsibilities Together with the CEO, E-team and AAHA Board, this role will: - Use qualitative and quantitative data to define the value AAHA must deliver to its individual members and corporate partners.
- Translate AAHA's definition of value into new products, services, experiences and business opportunities for AAHA individual members and corporate partners.
- Develop a culture of value generation and continuous improvement for individual members and corporate partners across the organization.
- Prioritize and execute projects that have the greatest opportunity to deliver impactful value to individual members and corporate partners.
- Generate broad industry impact and revenue from the value AAHA creates.
Business Development & Strategic Alliances - General
- Develops a high-performing AAHA business development team, including 1: accreditation direct sales, Veterinary Practice Network accreditation, and corporate partner sales. Manages and mentors the current sales and corporate partnership team, ensuring cross-collaboration within the association.
- Creates the association’s business development and sales strategies in line with AAHA’s strategic plan.
- Direct budget accountability for accreditation direct sales, and corporate partner sales which includes: revenues derived from exhibits, advertising, sponsorship, group purchasing and savings programs, and other sources of non-dues revenue; and departmental expenses – including sales bonus/commission structures.
- Accreditation Sales
- Responsible for AAHA’s new direct sales team for accreditation.
- Accountable for achieving new accreditation goals.
- Develops relationships with corporate veterinary practice consolidators to build Veterinary Practice Network accreditation.
- Develops relationships with and enhances value for consolidators.
- Corporate Partners
- Leads strategic partnership and alliance program, to include identifying, nurturing, establishing and growing third-party relationships that advance the mission of the organization. This includes deepening existing relationships while prioritizing creation of new alliances that are most strategic and relevant to AAHA and its members.
- Work with staff to prioritize, develop proposals and manage existing relationships.
- Designs and manages the new product development process for corporate partners, in order to develop new revenue streams for the association, while simultaneously expanding member benefits that are consistent with the mission of the organization.
- Accountable for achieving all partner revenue goals.
Individual (Affiliate) Membership - Value Development
- Provides comprehensive oversite and active development of the individual membership program, to include the defining and regular evaluation, as well as updating, of the features of this member category to maximize value, growth, and engagement.
- Works across all AAHA departments to ensure the features that comprise individual membership maintain relevancy and continuously improve member value.
- Management and Growth
- Sets budget, pricing, and revenue targets for individual membership with Executive Team input.
- In tandem with the Marketing team, creates strategic and tactical marketing and communication plans to actively grow individual membership categories.
- Partners with Operations and other staff to develop appropriate information architecture essential to the access, management and cross-functional use of data analytics for administrative and strategic insight.
- Works closely with Research Core Team to design and execute research that supports defining and translating value into new features and revenue streams.
- Volunteers and Community
- Responsible for defining, designing, developing, growing and measuring AAHA’s member community into a primary contributor of member value.
- Responsible for defining, designing, developing, growing and measuring AAHA’s volunteer program as a source of: committee and Board participants, member-driven content and intellectual property, product co-creation, research and, ultimately, membership value.
