Position Summary:

The Clinical and Practice Affairs Division of the Society of interventional Radiology is growing!  We are looking for two associates for the medical billing and practice operations teams.  A key component of the roles will be to monitor and analyze the proposed regulatory or payer policies that impact interventional practices.  The associates will gain valuable experience through working with other medical associations, business coalitions and patient groups with the ultimate goal of improving patient care.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with representatives of payers and other stakeholders that develop coverage and payment policies that impact the delivery of interventional radiology services.
• Maintain and expand network with other health and medical organizations and coalitions that address private sector and workforce issues.
• Develop reports and/or dashboards to monitor program and operational performance from different data sets.
• Proactively identify key issues in IR practice settings and build resources to strengthen those areas.
• Develop, and implementing key organizational processes for building practice expense sheets, including proper pricing allocation for equipment, staffing time, physician time, and service time.

Secondary Functions and Responsibilities

• The staff liaison will work with the chair to assure the business of the committee is accurately recorded and placed on the appropriate agenda(s) of the appropriate oversight committee, council, or Board. Staff liaison will develop and maintain knowledge of the committee’s area of expertise and work effectively and cooperatively with volunteers.
• Collaborates with the other staff Liaisons to assure that committees have the necessary background materials to support their work, as defined in meeting agendas and minutes. This may include ad hoc data searches for volunteers and staff.
• Provide overall staffing and liaison services to assigned council, committees, and task forces in conjunction with the chairs of these organizational groups. This includes drafting meeting agendas, coordinating meetings and conference calls, drafting programs/strategies to be discussed on the agenda, drafting, and distributing summation reports, tracking follow-ups, assisting with developing and monitoring budgets, and ensuring annual reports are complete.
