ASHA’s Director of Health Care Policy, Medicaid serves as ASHA’s primary analyst and advocate regarding Medicaid before the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services as well as state-based Medicaid programs. The Director’s focus is to support coverage and reimbursement of audiology and speech-language pathology services on behalf of ASHA members and the Medicaid beneficiaries they serve. The Director serves on ASHA’s collaborative 8 person Health Care & Education Policy Team and interacts closely with State Affairs and Federal Affairs Teams within ASHA’s Government Affairs & Public Policy group. They represent ASHA externally with like-minded national organizations and coalitions such as the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) Health Taskforce and NAMD.
