Oversee Finance Department. Supervise two accounting professionals. Provide leadership and direction to accounting staff.
Responsible for all aspects of accounting and finance including general ledger, accountspayable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Responsible for month-end and year-end close.
Responsible for preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports for the Executive Director and Financial Management Committee.
Coordinate the annual audit. Work with auditors. Ensure timely completion of audit.
Responsible for timely completion of state and federal tax returns (990, 990-T, DC D-20).
Responsible for DC quarterly sales tax filings.
Work with Executive Director on annual budget.
Serve as staff liaison for the Financial Management Committee.
Provide financial analysis of accounting information.
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
Maintain systems and controls to ensure integrity of all financial processes.
Assist regional treasurers providing guidance in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and other financial matters.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
Certified Public Accountant
Non-Profit 501 (c)(3) experience required
Minimum three years Controller experience
Minimum ten years progressive accounting experience
Proven experience with financial reporting and budgeting
Proven experience with annual audits and compliance with state and federal tax filings
Minimum three years supervisory experience
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office
Strong communication, customer service and organizational skills

Additional Salary Information: For benefits, we contribute 10% of salary to your 403 B as an employer contribution.
