Position Purpose: Under the direct supervision of the CFO, manage all finance and accounting functions, responsible for coordinating and oversight of all aspects of financial management for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and affiliated entities including ACE and AACECORP, while providing sound financial advice to the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, Finance Committees, CFO, CEO and other committees as needed. Explore and cultivate funding opportunities to help ensure the continued success and growth of AACE.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide financial management and accounting support for all facets of the business for:
American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists 501c(6)
American College of Endocrinology 501c(3)
AACECORP – For-profit, wholly owned subsidiary of AACE
Direct the completion of all financial transactions approved by the Board of Directors, CEO and CFO.
Assist AACE management team in fulfilling their financial responsibilities including but not limited to the planning, budgeting, financial modelling and performance assessment.
Ensure timely reports are made with respect to cash flows, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgets, investments including reports of all associated bank transactions and transfers between investment and corporate accounts.
Ensure necessary internal controls are implemented and maintained. Coordinate and assists independent auditor with compilation of financial documents needed for annual audit and tax preparation.
In coordination with CFO and management team, assist in the preparation, maintenance and presentation of the annual budgets to meet financial goals.
Direct the completion of all monthly and year-end financial reports, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and established policies, as defined by AACE/AACECORP/ACE by-laws and policy compendiums. Prepare and deliver timely monthly financial reports to the CFO and the Finance Committees.
Track financial investment portfolio and make reports and recommendations as directed by the CEO and CFO to the Board of Directors as necessary.
Manage payroll functions, banking functions, and preparation of all related payroll, sales tax, state and federal income tax, and local property tax returns.
Coordinate all on and off site financial management activities related to the Annual Meeting.
Interface with CEO and CFO appropriate Task Force/Committee and Board of Directors/Board of Trustees in support of developing long-term strategic plans that will allow AACE/ to secure alternate funding sources, other than existing industry support, to accomplish mission and assure sustainability.

Job Specifications: Certified Public Accountant preferred and at least 7 years’ financial management experience in accounting best practices including general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, accounts receivable and payable subsidiary ledgers, payroll, taxes, internal controls and non-profit/for-profit finance. Experience in nonprofit accounting a plus. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and oversight entities as well as applicable accounting standards. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field (Masters preferred), and 3-5 years leadership experience preferred. This includes experience in managing others, conducting performance evaluations, and coaching. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common, financial reports, legal documents and scientific and technical journals. Working knowledge of accounting software required, NetSuite accounting software preferred. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to senior management, Finance Committee, Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Must be organized, ability to work independently in a remote environment and possess above average digital communication skills.
