The Director, Education Programing & Engagement manages IFDA Conference Programing, Share Groups, Conference Planning Committees and supports Industry Relations strategic priorities.
Serve as IFDA staff lead for all educational content;
Plan and manage the IFDA SMart Conference and the Distribution Solutions Conference (DSC), including:
Develop educational programing, contract with speakers, and oversee budget; In collaboration with Director of Conferences, participate in site selection, contract negotiation, planning F&B, networking events, AV, etc,;
Provide input into conference promotional campaigns, scripting, mobile app, guidebooks, etc. with communications and marketing team;
In conjunction with Director of Exhibits and Business Development, provide input into sponsorship development and fulfillment for SMart and DSC conferences to include identification of possible sponsors, and promotion where appropriate;
Serve as primary liaison to SMart Conference Planning Council:
Typically two face-to-face meetings per year and multiple conference calls throughout year;
Serve as Primary Liaison to Smart Conference and DSC Planning Councils:
Typically two face-to-face meetings per year and multiple conference calls throughout year.
Manage IFDA Executive Development Program:
Responsible for ongoing of two, 3.5 day long executive education courses typically held in February and July each year;
Serve as primary IFDA liaison for UVA faculty and participants;
Negotiate and secure contract with UVA annually;
Coordinate support from IFDA communications, marketing and meetings departments.
Development & Management of Share Groups, including:
Operations, IT, HR and Finance Share Groups and explore other share group opportunities as appropriate;
Typically, two face-to-face meetings per year;
Develop and manage related budgets and agendas.
Keep current on industry operations and sales and marketing trends and challenges;
Oversee evaluation process for all conferences, webinars and educational events.
Additional Responsibilities and Duties:
Support IFDA Strategic Plan implementation as needed:
Industry Relations related initiatives
As needed, support Truck Driving Championship.
Other duties as assigned by VP of Industry Relations.
Travel: Travel to IFDA Events, industry-related events, member visits up to 25% of the year by land/or air. Some weekend travel required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Collaborative, team oriented approach to meeting/exceeding organizational goals and objectives.
Ability to establish priorities and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision.
Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
General knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience with project management.
Meetings management skillset.
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Communications, Education, Public Relations or Marketing.
7+ years in association management, event management/programing, Microsoft office proficiency and strong meetings management experience.
