We are looking for an experienced individual, who has worked closely with volunteer committees and boards, to help support our growing special interest Coalitions’ group. You must have a proactive approach to getting things done, be customer centric and able to manage multiple deadlines. This position is for individuals looking to develop their career in association management.
Coalitions, a growing program area within the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), are dues-based groupings of member firms with similar interests including structural, mechanical/electrical engineering, surveying work, site/civil and land development, geo-technical engineering and small firm business interests. This position, reporting to the Coalitions Director, will assist in maintaining ongoing operations including, but not limited to handling membership inquiries, publication administration and distribution, and communication via social media with companion online newsletters. Position will also maintain database of current coalition members plus oversee award programs and assist with meeting logistics for yearly coalition meetings, plus two national conferences. Some travel will be required.
To perform successfully in this role, our ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree in Communications, Business/Marketing or related field; and 2-4 years directly related experience; preferably in a trade association environment or experience working with a membership-driven organization.
Candidates should demonstrate a track record of excellent customer relations support using a variety of communication mediums and platforms; have strong project management and coordination skills involving association/nonprofit volunteers or others in leadership and high level staff roles (internally & externally); excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; database management proficiency and skill; and a capacity to develop a working knowledge of association products and services.
Experienced with a CRM database (netForum preferred) including running queries.
Experience with marketing programs (Adestra preferred) including crafting various messages about events, publications, member engagement.
Experienced with web content editing
Experienced with Microsoft Office products to include mail merges from multiples sources
