AACC, a DC-based dynamic, growing international scientific/medical society of clinical laboratory professionals, physicians, and research scientists focused on clinical chemistry and related disciplines, is seeking an Associate Director, Professional Education. The Associate Director, Professional Education is responsible for directing AACC’s accreditation programs (CME and ACCENT®) and ensuring that these programs are in compliance with appropriate state and national standards. The Associate Director, Professional Education develops and implements professional education activities and special projects as required. The Associate Director, Professional Education: - Ensures AACC’s reputation as a leading provider of high-quality educational activities by maintaining its accredited status with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.
- Ensures AACC’s compliance with state, federal, and other national standards and requirements that influence accreditation.
- Serves as the association’s accreditation expert and advises staff and leadership on changes in requirements that affect policies and procedures for accredited activities.
- Maintains documentation of policies, procedures, timelines, and forms for ACCME and continuing education activities
- Establishes and ensures the accomplishment of annual and long-range goals for accreditation, professional education activities, and other projects that are aligned with AACC’s strategic plans.
- Supports the American Board of Clinical Chemistry, working with the Director, Professional Education
- Recommends and evaluates technology and process improvements that enhance accreditation workflow and documentation.
- Analyzes educational needs and outcomes that may influence customers’ use of and satisfaction with AACC’s education programs.
- Designs and implements survey tools, analyzes data, and disseminates results to staff and leadership to use for future strategic program planning purposes.
- Plans and executes professional education activities.
- Directs preparation of publicity to promote education activities, accreditation programs, and other projects, as needed.
- Supports fundraising efforts to secure educational grants in support of AACC’s activities.
- Builds relationships with other clinical societies to collaborate on professional education activities.
- Seeks new opportunities for AACC to expand its activities intended to enable laboratory professionals to advance in their careers and to fulfill their licensure and/or certification requirements.
