The Health Industry Distributors Association, a national trade association representing healthcare product suppliers, is seeking a business-minded staff writer to work on a variety of publications. You’re likely to love this job IF: you want to write, you have a keen interest in business and/or healthcare topics, you work quickly and like balancing multiple projects, and you’re looking for an organization that keeps you really busy but still offers work-life balance.
As the Communications Specialist/Writer, you’ll be responsible for HIDA’s regular newsletters, press releases, and blog posts, as well as articles in the association’s magazine and industry media; you’ll also assist on industry advocacy campaigns.

The successful candidate will offer exceptional writing and editing skills, and the ability to quickly craft communication pieces that are relevant, brief, and easily understood. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, with a natural tendency to want to understand unfamiliar issues. Other key attributes include the ability to accept editing and guidance with grace, superior time management and organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines and adjust to changing demands. Business courses and/or experience would be a major plus; healthcare industry knowledge/experience ideal. Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in public affairs, journalism, or communications helpful.
