The Senior Account Executive is responsible for the administrative management and meetings oversight for associations, including operations, governance, and programs/special events. In addition, the Director will serve as the key account executive for two client associations and have meetings and special events oversight for additional clients.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: I. Key Account Executive/Executive Director (50%) A. Serves as Executive Director to a local association B. Coordinates and attends monthly board meetings and manages relationships with the local board members. C. Works with client leaders to produce educational meetings, the annual meeting, golf outing and other meetings and special events per the scope of services D. Staff liaison to chapter committees such as sponsorship, scholarship, etc. E. Along with the treasurer, prepares and monitors annual budget. F. Monitors association memberships. G. Manages special events based on the current scope of services. H. Attends state and national events based on the current scope of services. I. Manages other client duties as required.
II. Key Account Executive/Administrative Director (30%) A. Serves as Administrative Director to a national association B. Coordinates and participates in weekly operations conference call meetings with senior leaders. C. With the COO, responsible for board and leadership development duties including agenda development, communications, board orientation, board retreat, nominations, board development, and all governance related activities. D. Providing and ensuring for support for select committees. E. Oversight responsibilities for website technology and communications, including working with existing partners to provide e-marketing, GoToMeeting and other technology. F. Responsible for member recruitment and engagement projects and relationship management. G. With the Treasurer and Executive Team, provides support for all financial management duties, including the development of the annual budget. H. Ensure support for the annual conferences (meeting management/leadership provided by an outside consultant). I. Monitors association memberships. J. Manages other client duties as required.
III. Client Meetings Oversight (20%) A. Serves as key contact with program site/hotel/audio visual vendors. B. As requested, has oversight of key meeting logistics, including site selection, function specs, audio/visual and food/beverage. C. Serves as primary contact with program site/hotel/audio visual vendors. D. Manages all details of program logistics, including contract negotiation, site selection, function specs, audio/visual and food/beverage for the annual local conference. E. Serves as the staff liaison to the co-chairs of the local conference, including sponsor and speaker needs, accommodations and audio/visual requirements and onsite management.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related area and 5+ years’ experience in association/meeting management. CAE and/or CMP preferred but not required. Superior communications, organizational and volunteer leadership skills are necessary, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Candidate should be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, and comfortable working with web-based events management and database systems. Extensive local (Chicago area) travel is required; as well as limited national travel. The Director, Client Services will at all times represent WMR and client organizations in a highly professional and appropriate manner.
