NACS, the association that represents the global convenience and fuel retailing industry, currently seeks a driven, solutions-oriented, creative thinker as the NACS State Level Industry Advocacy Manager. This role is responsible for supporting the year-round activities of the Association related to the growth and maintenance of our State and Community Association initiatives for the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS). This position works closely with both Government Relations and Retail Membership teams as well as acts as a liaison between the State and Community Associations and NACS Departments.
Assists and promotes the culture of the entire NACS Organization through cooperation, dedication, and open and honest communications.
Supports NACS’ Brand Promise, NACS Goals and Values, etc.
Assists with the development and execution of programs to provide support and assistance to State and Community Associations.
Develops strong, positive relationships with a diverse group of State and Community association leaders.
Communicates and follows up with State and Community Associations on a regular and consistent basis.
Assists with the collection and dissemination of accurate contact as well as other pertinent information to and from State and Community Associations.
Documents and communicates activities, accomplishments, and issues to supervisor and others as required on a regular basis.
Addresses the needs of the participating State and Community Associations by facilitating connections with NACS departments.
Maintains strong relationships with NACS Departments to ensure optimal delivery of support to State and Community Associations.
Stays abreast of the specific NACS Departmental offers to State and Community Associations through consistent interoffice communications.
Interfaces directly with NACS Government Relations team on a weekly basis.
Represents NACS at State and Community Association events on an as-needed basis.
Makes recommendations to improve the overall effectiveness of NACS’ State and Community Association initiatives.
Assists the Member Services team in achieving, and exceeding goals based on the strategic initiatives of the team and the Association.

Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple activities at once.
An interest in | a passion for | a background in Government Relations issues.
Background in | exposure to PR | communications processes and tools.
Good written and oral communications skills.
Good computer skills including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Experience with Avectra NetForum a plus.
Ability to travel on business at minimum of 20 percent.
Office Hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday Metro accessible – 2 Blocks from King Street Metro
