The INSA President will report to the Chairperson of INSA’s Board of Directors and will be accountable to the INSA Board of Directors and the INSF Board of Trustees in leading the strategy and direction of INSA from its present stage to an even more valuable member of the national security community. Specifically, the President will ensure that INSA’s fiscal, operations, fundraising, marketing, human resource, technology, and programmatic strategies are effectively implemented across all segments of the organization.
Collaborate with the Chairperson and the Board to enhance and implement the strategic plan while ensuring that the budget, staff, and priorities are aligned with INSA’s core mission
In partnership with the Chairperson, build a diverse and inclusive Board representative of the community that is actively engaged in the achievement of INSA’s mission
Build a strong working relationship with the Board and ensure open communication
Formulate and execute effective fundraising, marketing, branding, programs, and membership strategies that will increase revenue from major donors, foundations, government agencies, and corporation
Lead and direct all staff, to include the hiring and development of all individuals ensuring a professional and efficient organization.
Experience at an executive level of government or industry in the area of intelligence and national security
Leadership skills (strategy implementation, building a team, setting priorities for personnel and resources), with a minimum of 15 years of overall professional experience.
Knowledge of/experience in or supporting the Intelligence Community
Business acumen (industry or government experience, business development, fundraising, budget management)
Outstanding presentation and communication skills and the experience and proclivity to be an dynamic spokesperson, relationship builder, and fundraiser
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS MAY INCLUDE
Significant board development, fundraising, marketing/branding and financial management experience
Minimum of a BA, preferably with an MBA, MPA or related advanced degree in intelligence and national security
