For nearly 40 years, the Coalition for Government Procurement (“the Coalition”) has brought together public and private sector procurement leaders to work towards the mutual goal of common-sense acquisition. The Coalition is a non-profit trade association of government contractors that offer the latest services and products from the commercial market to Federal agencies. We are unique in the broad scope of industries that we represent—from IT, professional services, and security-related firms to pharmaceuticals and healthcare products.
The Coalition is seeking a details-oriented team member to serve as a Program Assistant that supports all aspects of association administrative, events and program duties.
The position reports directly to the Vice President of Public Policy. Job responsibilities include:
I. Providing Administrative support
Maintains President’s and other office calendars
Schedules meetings, distributes member announcements and coordinates meeting logistics with internal and external stakeholders
Prepares slide presentations, policy letters and other correspondence
Conducts electronic setup and delivery of weekly newsletter
Provides IT support for member conference calls and webinars
Acquires and maintains supplies
II. Supporting Coalition Conferences and Training
Prepares correspondence to government speakers (pre and post event)
Provides on-site setup, registration and other events support
Creates event badges for guests
Coordinates Excellence in Partnership Awards marketing, submissions and events logistics
Coordinates CLE Accreditation for Training Courses
III. Supporting Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
Become internal expert and “gate keeper” of CRM system, including coordinating user setup, and administration
Maintains association database
Assists management in analysis related to the CGP member base
Provides research and analysis through CRM and other electronic tools
IV. Assisting in maintaining relevant, timely, interactive communications with CGP members
Develops and updates content for Coalition website
Prepares articles for weekly newsletters
Leads Coalition social media activities (Twitter and LinkedIn) working with associations a plus
V. Other Duties as assigned
Required skills and abilities:
Excellent writing skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to multi-task and remain flexible in fast-paced work environment
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use other office software programs
