The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), a national trade association representing commercial construction firms, seeks an administrative and legal assistant for its Contracts & Construction Law department. This position will perform administrative and program services to develop and publish standard construction contracts, which are sold as a subscription service. This position is responsible for providing effective and streamlined services to a legal minded not-for-profit coalition effort. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved with a dynamic, established, and growing coalition focused on advancing the construction industry through fair and best practice contracts.
Primary work assignments may include the following:
Maintaining rosters, program activities log, agreements with volunteers, department administrative guide and other department documents.
Assisting in producing, editing and distributing monthly digital construction law newsletter.
Preparing, editing, and proofreading a variety of documents (ex: articles, PowerPoint presentations, standardized document templates).
Responsible for maintaining and revising master copies of standard contracts, archiving master files, and processing educational as well as copyright applications.
Attend and provide meeting minutes of ConsensusDocs document working groups and Contract Content Advisory Council meetings.
Enter database records.
Assists the Senior Counsel, Director, and Sales Specialist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Secondary work assignments may include the following:
Assists in executing digital content strategy, including posting on website and social media pages.
Provide back-up sales and customer support to the offsite support team, Sales Specialist and Director.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:
Excellent writing and editing skills
Very well organizational and a strong attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Word is a requirement, restricting, formatting, and editing
A background in legal, contract management, or construction services a plus, but not required
A college degree and Microsoft Office certification preferred
