This position is responsible for managing projects that focus on recruiting and retaining members, including eblasts, inbound marketing efforts and social media outreach, while overseeing CalCPA’s membership recruitment and renewal projects. In addition, The CalCPA marketing communications manager steers the success of identified member segments and other key, strategic initiatives—from strategic planning to implementation. This position oversees all chapter communications and collateral, and serves as project lead for CalCPA communication planning—ensuring brand consistency and message delivery across all channels, business units and product lines. This position also manages CalCPA’s print and online production team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Supervise online production specialist and print production specialist. • Manage and execute all stages of CalCPA renewal, recruitment and retention processes and outreach. • Manage inbound and outbound membership marketing. • Identify and create significant deliverables related to targeted statewide initiatives, including engaging local chapter leadership. • Regularly reassess and improve print and email policies, procedures and processes. • Identify and execute new recruitment and retention strategies related to key member/firm/industry/technical segments, including in-person outreach, targeted collateral/resources and a positive online user experience. • Determine ROI and develop tracking mechanism for effectiveness of email campaigns and make change and/or enhancement recommendations. • Enhance and execute social media strategy including managing Connect and evaluating and reporting on ROI of various tactics. • Other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years related work experience. • Proficient in use of computer and must have a strong background in social networking applications and demonstrated ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat, as well as ability to work in a database environment. • Demonstrated organizational, communications and critical thinking skills. • A demonstrated understanding of budget management, monitoring and projection. • Must be able to travel locally outside of regular working hours. Must retain a valid CA Driver’s License, have access to vehicle and provide proof of motor vehicle insurance. • Must be able to travel at various times during the year for one to two-day meetings.
