The International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers is currently looking for a marketing and communications manager to help build on some great and flourishing programs, create all-new digital communication assets, develop integrated, customer-centric marketing campaigns, and tell the many outstanding, awesome, magnificent and beautiful stories that make up this fantastic industry!
Reporting to the Executive Director, the marketing and communications manager will oversee the:
Execution of a completely overhauled strategy
Generation of timely, relevant content for members and the industry at large
Curation of content from numerous sources
Marketing and communications programs to improve and evolve our current approach and identify new opportunities, generate awareness, build engagement, and drive revenue
This is a fantastic opportunity for a marketing wunderkind who has a few years under her or his belt and is looking to take on a bigger role and own the marcom for the organization.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with the executive director to lead the strategic development and tactical implementation of all marketing campaigns, deliver on established KPIs, and support revenue streams across the organization for our annual trade show, publications, educational programs, products, and other events
Manage IPCPR’s digital presence, including all social media outreach, email campaigns, websites, blogs, articles, online ads, etc.
Manage the development, writing, and design of marketing materials such as brochures, direct mail pieces, print ads, flyers, email, online ads, search engine ads, and other marketing materials
Oversee analysis and metrics for all major campaigns across a variety of platforms and suggest appropriate direction changes
Create communications collateral, including press releases, blogs, news briefs, articles, columns, speeches, PowerPoint presentations, letters to the editor, social posts, pod casts, videos
Serve as the in-house copy editor and AP style expert
Work with IPCPR leadership and stakeholders across the organization to deliver effective, integrated marketing solutions connected to brand positioning, ensuring that the brand is cohesive across IPCPR and applied correctly
Steward the IPCPR brand
Build and track effective email marketing campaigns, testing and adjusting as needed to optimize results
Manage website, write and edit webpages in content management system and work with IPCPR staff to ensure website is kept up-to-date
Collaborate and coordinate with IPCPR stakeholders to improve aspects of website, including user experience, landing pages, and lead generation
Work with executive director to develop social and digital strategy and write copy to support efforts on social media marketing channels including videos, blogs, webinars, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or equivalent years of experience
3 years of related work experience
Proficient in all digital communications formats
Proven experience managing multiple marketing plans and timelines with concurrent communications deadlines
Independent, organized, resourceful, creative thinker and team player
Excellent communication skills, with elite writing skills and the ability to write creatively, clearly and concisely to diverse audience segments
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to be flexible under pressure
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Proficient in Marketing Automation and CRM
Experience in a marketing position
Strongly preferred that you have at least an understanding of premium cigars and pipe tobacco (i.e. this is NOT cigarettes or "big tobacco")
