The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) is seeking an experienced membership manager to join the team. Reporting to the Director of Membership, the Membership Manager will focus on membership functions related to podiatric medical students, residencies and fellowship programs from across the country. This position requires excellent communication and writing skills.
Key responsibilities for Membership Manager:
Manage College relationships with student clubs at medical schools throughout the United States as well as manage the College’s Fellowship Recognition process and resident recruitment and retention processes
Effectively and skillfully maintain ACFAS’ member database as well as process applications for post graduate fellows, residents and students
Serve as a front line of communication with members by responding to membership calls and e-mails in a timely fashion
Assist the Director of Membership with membership marketing efforts and departmental strategic issues by offering creative and effective ideas
Coordinate annual conference events related to student, resident and post graduate fellow members
Oversee and update all related areas of membership content on the ACFAS website and act as departmental power user for our content management system (CMS)
Actively participate with College Membership, Fellowship, and Post Graduate Affairs Committees
Support marketing efforts for current and potential members through written communications, collateral piece creation, booth layout/design, video creation, and other projects
Assist the Director of Membership with departmental strategic issues
Requirements for Membership Manager:
Strong writing and customer service skills with quick follow-up and a “how can I help you?” attitude
Ability to work effectively with student, resident and post graduate fellow members
Excellent communication, writing and marketing skills
Strong project management skills
Organized with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
A passion for accuracy and attention to detail with a focus on process orientation
Knowledge of database management; iMIS experience is a plus
Experience with website content management systems (CMS) is preferred
5+ years of association experience is strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree required; CAE is a plus
Travel to one yearly conference is required
