The senior manager of member engagement is the perfect fit for an experienced component relations and member engagement manager looking to take their experience to the next level. The senior manager should have experience with evaluating member interests and data to determine the most effective member engagement strategies. This position is part of the member engagement team and will have primary oversight for ASA’s state components which include 10 state networks and 16 chapters. The senior manager will have the opportunity to work across all association functions to integrate these components into our overall member engagement strategy.
Responsibilities include volunteer management and relationship building, leadership and program development, grassroots advocacy efforts, member service, resource development, meeting management, marketing and communications, and financial oversight. Travel is required.
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 to 7 years association management experience. Experience with membership and component relations, councils, or chapters is required. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects; and competency using technology, including Microsoft Office applications and database management. Should have strong volunteer experience and communication skills and a proven ability to engage volunteers in support of an association’s strategic priorities. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, manage projects with accuracy and attention to detail, and meet deadlines in a demanding, busy, fast-paced environment. Strong writing and editing skills required; should be comfortable with public speaking and travel. Experience with Higher Logic is a plus.
