The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for developing, coordinating and overseeing all internal and external communications and for developing marketing and public relations strategies that advance the mission of the organization. The manager initiates and coordinates the conceptual development of major projects, selected publications and websites; manages media relations; serves as the organization’s communications contact person; oversees marketing and branding efforts; and assists other departments with developing communications plans and materials.
Develop marketing plan, produce marketing materials and onsite materials for Annual Conference and District Meetings.
Manage AAID’s marketing activities, including support to the membership, education, credentialing, and foundation staff in marketing campaigns and promotional material.
Engage outside marketing, public relations, communications, design, technical and/or research consultants, as appropriate, and supervise and appraise the performance of such consultants.
Maintain brand image.
Manage AAID’s communications activities.
Manage the strategic use of the AAID’s website and social media channels.
Manage the creation and distribute of bulk e-mail communications to members and provides support to other staff members in the writing and distribution of bulk e-mail communication.
Provide strategic communications counsel to and staff support for various committees as requested.
Establish and maintain relationships with the press and media and identify AAID spokespersons.
Develop and distribute news releases, feature articles, and other press materials.
Manage and create partnerships with industry professionals to help promote AAID (All Star Dental, Dental Tribune et al)
Work with Dental Tribune on Onsite Daily for Annual Conference; provide content, ads to promote Annual Conference (electronic and print); and act as AAID contact.
Serve as contact for press inquiries.
Oversee the AAID websites to ensure members and patients have a venue to learn about implants and the organization.
Manage Social Media Coordinator.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
Five years marketing and communications experience at a membership association
Excellent ability to work with members, contract employees, designers and printers
Experience with website design, SEO/SEM, branding, public relations, and content management
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, .html coding, social media, and graphic design concepts
