The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) is seeking a Director of Strategic Communications, who will set and guide the strategy, messaging and brand image for all communications to consistently articulate SGIA's objectives and mission.
Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, develop and launch integrated strategic communications plans that transcend organizational boundaries to support and advance SGIA’s mission and goals.
Proactively identify the need for messaging for new and existing initiatives.
Create a compelling value proposition for SGIA’s programs and events to drive branding and messaging.
Work with VP and project managers to define scope of project by facilitating a discover process.
In collaboration with SGIA program managers, develop strategic communications campaigns to advance awareness that are targeted for specific audiences.
Enter campaign into Asana.
Establish SGIA as the go to source for information within the printing industry.
Cultivate media relationships to ensure coverage of issues and activities of interest to SGIA and the printing communities.
Monitor media coverage of the printing industry, SGIA and PRINTING United and recommend and formulate responses for the Director of Public Relations.
Track project deliverables and maintain schedule.
Oversee the testing of email campaigns.
Track/analyze results in real-time and adjust campaign accordingly.
Counsel Senior Staff and Member Leaders on Communications Plans and Messaging
Partner closely with Marketing Department and Publications and Public Relations Department colleagues to support their ongoing needs related to strategic communications.
Produce a variety of communications assets and materials including, executive presentations, articles and talking points.
Provide suggestions on how to improve campaign.
Identify and champion new communications tools
Bachelor’s in public relations, communications or related area.
10+ years demonstrated professional experience in creating and launching communications strategies.
Demonstrated experience with Asana and Hubspot, Marketo, or a similar email marketing platform.
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTES & ABILITIES:
Working in an Association or Not for Profit environment experience preferred.
Extensive knowledge of the best practices and procedures communications.
Experience writing compelling marketing copy
Exceptional written and verbal communications, with the ability to synthesize information into compelling messaging.
Good listener with a keen ability to knit together disparate sources of information into a strong strategic narrative. Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
High capacity to work in team-oriented and collaborative manner
Strong capability to organize, prioritize and multi-task; attention to detail, time-management skills
Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of management levels, cultures and partners.
Skilled in juggling different projects/priorities independently and deliver high quality outcomes under pressure.
