The Madison Area Builders Association (MABA) seeks a strategic, innovative leader to serve as its Executive Director. This position is responsible for overseeing the administration including staff management, programs and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include event management, community outreach, membership and revenue growth and government affairs oversight. This position reports directly to the Board of Directors.
The Executive Director is an ex officio member of the MABA Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
Duties & Responsibilities
Works with the board to fulfill the organization mission.
Responsible for leading MABA in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly.
Financial Performance and Viability
Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the Association, to include submission to the Board of Directors a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements.
Responsible for day-to-day fiscal management within the budget approved by the Board.
Innovates to both discover cost savings through operational efficiencies and to drive revenue through program/event/benefit delivery.
Grows membership revenue through both new and retained accounts.
Responsible for annual audit, tax filings, and all other organizational required financial reports.
Responsible for implementation of Association’s programs, including the annual Parade of Homes event.
Responsible for the enhancement of Association’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with partner organizations.
Responsible for managing the Association’s brand and marketing message with stakeholders, both internal and external.
Responsible for interfacing with Association committees to drive the strategies of the Board.
Responsible for effective administration of Association operations.
Responsible for the hiring, management, performance evaluations and retention of competent, qualified staff.
Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization within the parameters of the policies set by the Board.
Oversees all communication to the membership.
5+ years association management or related experience
5+ years staff management experience
Transparent and high integrity leadership
Visionary, innovative and collaborative leader
Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget development, analysis, decision making and reporting
Strong organizational skills including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
Ability to convey a vision of MABA’s future to staff, board, volunteers and donors
Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong public speaking ability
IOM and/or CAE strongly preferred
