The purpose of this job is to serve our members, customers and co-workers.
This position is responsible for developing ACHE reports and queries, serving as a project manager and business analyst for Data Governance activities, providing guidance to leadership for business reporting and data quality; and developing a strategy for longer term business intelligence and performance excellence activities. This position will work with project stakeholders and business users to develop reporting requirements, identify solutions and enhancements that support business functions and achieve operating efficiencies, enhance the customer experience, and realize strategic objectives through the data presentation and analysis.
I. Report/Query Development Activities (50% of time)
Serve as a member of the AMS implementation team responsible for the design, development, and testing of new reports and queries. Analyze requirements and system capabilities. Engage business users (SMEs) and ACHE leadership to determine and document standard definitions for key criteria used in reports and queries. Complete required tasks according to the overall AMS implementation project plan.
Serve as a liaison between the development team/MIS and business users(SMEs) to gather, document, and write business requirements for data reports and queries.
Develop documentation, training, and provide support to report and query customers. Maintain and update user documentation in keeping with best practices. Manage ACHE Report and Query inventory.
Recommend improvements to reports and queries by studying current practices. Document and deploy improvements, as needed. Develop and implement data improvement strategies that optimize efficiency and data quality.
II. Data Governance and Integrity Activities (25% of time)
Research and propose guidelines for the development of ACHE Data Governance/Data Quality programs.
Provides data analytics as needed by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Filter and "clean" data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct process problems as needed.
Communicate policy and procedure to maintain data standards.
III. Business Intelligence and Improvement Activities (15% of time)
Research solutions to automate the presentation of and access to ACHE organizational data in accordance with Data Governance principles and organizational priorities.
Gather business requirements, translate findings, and recommend business intelligence solutions. Develop a business intelligence roadmap which considered strategic and operational objectives in the short term and over the long term.
IV. Other Duties, as assigned (10% of time)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Graduate degree in statistics, computer science, predictive analytics or related quantitative field preferred.
In-depth knowledge of statistical tools (SAS or R) and advanced modeling and machine learning tools.
Proficiency with tools for data extraction and manipulation from relational databases (SQL, python).
Strong project management skills within the information systems environment
Demonstrated knowledge of tools, processes, methodologies, and standards for requirements gathering, documentation, and analysis.
Knowledge of performance improvement principles (Baldrige) required.
Must be organized and detail oriented.
