Would you like to work in an office that recognizes the value you add to the team?
Then you may be just who we’re looking for! Dworbell, Inc., manages three national trade associations which focus on retirement finance, aging issues and affordable housing. This role will primarily support National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association (NRMLA) which brings together lenders and other professionals who provide a critical source of financing to help consumers 62 years old and older remain comfortably in their homes. The information we provide, and the resources we produce, are known and respected throughout the industry. Our small, yet impactful, company has successfully been in business for decades. The Dupont Circle Metro is just a short walk from our office. You might be a good fit if you:
• Consider yourself a skilled writer and strategic communicator: Whether you have a formal background in journalism or just love to write, we’re looking for someone who can quickly capture the essence of financial information in easy to understand language. You will develop press releases, initiate and respond to media and paid content opportunities and guide social media and website content. The goal is to ensure consistent and timely messaging to maximize our presence with opinion leaders, policy officials, consumers, our members and prospective members.
• Are someone with a proven track record who can take our media relations to the next level: Have you demonstrated a knack for story conception and development (even as you are just learning about a new topic?) Can you develop and manage a PR budget and corresponding campaign? Do you track and influence media coverage? Have a keen sense for metrics? Great! These are just some of the things you will be called on to do on behalf of our client Associations.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively: The Public Relations Director interacts with the Association Board of Directors, the PR committee, local, national and government media outlets. The ability to be direct, yet flexible, when creating and maintaining relationships is key to success. Experience managing sensitive issues is a plus. A sense of humor also helps.
Can you meet these basic requirements? Do you have 3-5 years of relevant work experience at an agency or association managing multiple clients? Have you completed at least a bachelor’s degree? Are you available for periodic travel? One of the perks of the job is that our conferences are held in some very nice to visit locales. You also need to be organized and detail oriented with an ability to multi-task.
