WANTED: A strategy and sales guru passionate about promoting the growth and development of the organization through association membership sales and recruitment. Must be a go-getter with strong communication skills to cultivate member relationships. The Business Development and Membership Sales Manager is a problem-solver ready to grow the organization. This position may be based out of either our Wakefield, MA or Reston, VA offices.
The Business Development and Membership Sales Manager will be responsible for driving association membership sales and recruitment including prospecting, contacting target members, responding to inquiries and closing membership agreements. Often the first point of contact for prospective companies, the Business Development and Membership Sales Manager uses strong interpersonal and customer service skills to attract, support, and retain members.
A DAY IN THE LIFE WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Participate in the development of a membership strategic plan for growth consistent with the long-term strategic marketing plan
Cultivate relationships with current and prospective members
Drive the growth of association membership through prospecting, contacting target members, responding to inquiries and closing on membership agreements
Develop and monitor all communications so that messages are consistent and appropriate to recruit new members
Maintain knowledge of association membership, association activity, and industry news
Collaborate with Virtual Marketing and Communications Team; oversee development and implementation of communication initiatives
Assist with membership retention activity and support members with information and resolve issues or inquiries
Represent associations at member conferences and events
Track all membership prospecting activity using tools such as HubSpot CRM tool and Impexium
Prepare and distribute weekly status reports for related sales activities summarizing all data points pertinent to growing membership, sponsorship, and training to include statistical reports

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) required
5 plus years of related experience in Sales or Membership Services, or related field
Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to listen and respond to specific membership needs
Knowledge of blockchain industry is a significant plus
Experience working with industry associations
Excellent telecommunication skills combined with interpersonal membership services and customer support ability
Experience working with HubSpot or a similar CRM platform for sales reporting and tracking
Outstanding written & verbal communications skills
Experience working with global constituency
Expertise in MS Office Suite with strong proficiency in web & database management
Program or project management skills
High level of creativity and "rolled up sleeves" working style
Detail-oriented, with effective organizational skills, including strong time-management, the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently with limited supervision, work well under pressure and have solid problem-solving skills
Some travel required (up to 15%), passport required
