The National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU) seeks a Director of Education to develop and administer the content for the Association’s member education programs, including the content and speaker selection for its conferences. This position supervises a staff of two and reports to the Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer.

What you'll do:
The Director identifies and recommends programs and curriculum that will benefit board members and staff of credit unions and develops a yearly plan for the Association’s educational offerings, including executing a strategic plan; recommending courses, content, and speakers; identifying the best format for all offerings – in-person, webex, and/or webinar; setting budgets; and, coordinating with the VP of Marketing in developing plans for the marketing of programs. He/she designs, develops and oversees implementation of NAFCU’s various certification programs, working with the content of the programs, writing the examination questions, and administering the testing for certification. The Director evaluates the educational needs of credit union officials and staff to ensure that programs are consistent with current needs and monitors the programming offered by competitors and comparable financial groups.
Bachelor’s degree required in Education, Business, Finance, Marketing or a similar discipline. Formal training in curriculum and instruction are preferred.
Minimum of three years’ work experience in a financial or association environment required.
A minimum of two years in education programming, curriculum building, examination writing, and/or training strongly preferred.
A thorough understanding of the financial services industry and the responsibilities of its officials and staff is required. Strong knowledge of the credit union industry and operational knowledge are a plus. Must be current on issues impacting credit unions.
Knowledge of distance learning and learning management systems is necessary.
Must have previous public speaking experience, with exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Ability to travel frequently is required.
