The Staff Accountant plays a major role in the monthly financial close and is responsible for general ledger management, account reconciliations, as well as other duties related to the execution of the reporting cycle. He/she will provide accounting and analytical support including month and year-end preparation, balance sheet analysis, general ledger reconciliation as well as assist with the generation of the financial reporting package and documentation.
Responsible for the monthly financial close, including preparing the monthly closing general ledger entries, performing expense reconciliations, etc.
Assist in producing monthly financial statements including profit/loss statements, balance sheet, and cash-flow statements for ASPS/PSF/PSPS/ISPRES and all affiliated organizations.
Performs reconciliations on a monthly basis, and addresses issues in a timely and effective manner.
Provides support and analysis for the annual audit.
Provides support for the annual budget and quarterly forecast process.
Provides support to the Accounts Payable Coordinator, including acting as backup for processing payables.
Processes staff travel reimibursement requests while ensuring compliance to the policy is maintained.
Processes volunteer travel reimbursment requests while ensuring compliance to the policy is maintained.
Supports Operations and conduct monthly check-ins and assist with quarterly reviews.
Assist with the annual 1099 preparation and filing.
Supports the preparation of daily ASPS/PSF/PSPS cash reports (as back-up)
Supports the preparation of monthly ASPS/PSF/PSPS cash reports (as back-up)
Developments and maintains an accounting and procedure manual to help ensure interal controls are in place and being followed.
Performs miscellaneous year-end reconciliations and projects as related to the annual audit.
Administrator of Host Analytics & Modeling, financial reporting system used by the organization.
Supports the Accounting Manager and handles adhoc tasks and responsibilities, as assigned.
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
Experience: One to three years’ experience in accounting and familiarity with the professional accounting practices involved in account analysis and reconciliations.
Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) desirable
Computer Skills: MS Excel, MS Word, SQL, Dynamics SL, Host Analytics, Aptify, FrX Financial Reporting Package
Exceptional accounting and analytical skills. High attention to detail and follow-through. Strong verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills. Self-starter and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
