ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Manager, Membership Services will play a pivotal role implementing initiatives that attract new members, retain current members and enhance benefits and foster member engagement. In collaboration with the Executive Director, the MTS Board and the Communications staff, the Membership Manager will implement and evaluate initiatives to improve service and quality for members, both individual and corporate, and manage the day-to-day processing of all membership records. This includes the following essential functions:
Conducts all activities related to MTS member acquisition, onboarding, retention, dues structure, multi-channel renewal and communications needed to achieve MTS’ Strategic Plan and organizational membership goals.
Develops new, proactive programs to increase membership and further engage existing members.
Responsible for acting as the main point of contact for members.
Works with Accounting staff on bi-weekly reconciliation of membership dues.
Responsible for personally calling existing, prospective and inactive members to determine member needs and reasons for not choosing to renew memberships.
Works with staff on communicating member needs, services, and pertinent information for website, newsletters, and other communication vehicles.
Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the membership database and generating and processing renewal notices.
Monitors and reports on key metrics related to membership and generate reports to inform engagement strategy.
Works with staff to develop and support renewal and recruitment campaigns, as well as define targets and audiences.
Provides strategic guidance, support, and resources to Section leadership that is consistent with MTS mission and vision. Establishes and manage productive relationships with Section leaders to enhance the connection between MTS and each Section.
Works with staff to produce/coordinate special programming for Sections during meetings (e.g. MTS Council Meetings twice annually, etc.)
Works with staff to develop membership marketing and promotional materials, including applications, welcome kits and other collateral.

Bachelor’s degree required.
7 years of professional experience and at least 5 years of experience performing
Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
Experience and demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and
an openness to learning and working with new technology.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Ability to exercise highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential
matters, and to maintain high level of confidentiality, included but not limited to strategic
planning initiatives, contracts, budgeting, and personnel matters.
Demonstrate attention to detail.
Ability to work in a small team environment.
Ability to work with contractors.
Experience developing and implementing membership programs.
Experience setting and achieving annual membership targets.
Strong verbal and written, listening and communication skills.
Superior management and analytical skills.
Ability to strategically solve problems and make effective decisions.
Ability to travel.
Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out complex, multi-step instructions and make appropriate independent decisions as necessary. Regularly required to sit, frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. Must be able to lift objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Work mostly in a typical office setting with quiet to moderate noise level.
