Title: Professional Education and Research Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Professional Education and Research
Scope of Responsibilities
The Professional Education and Research Coordinator will assist the Professional Education and Research Departments to enhance and implement organizational vision as established in the Casualty Actuarial Society's (CAS) Strategic Plan and as directed by the Board and Executive Council. The coordinator supports a variety of professional education and research projects and programs designed to inform and educate the CAS and other interested parties.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Serve as staff liaison and provide administrative support for research and professional education committees, including collaboration with other actuarial associations.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on the development and distribution of post-meeting summaries and seminar evaluations.
Maintain professional education and research databases for CAS meetings, seminars, and webinars as well as maintain the CAS professional education speakers’ database.
Coordinate the administration and adherence to timelines of new and ongoing CAS professional education and research projects.
Assist with the production of promotional materials for various educational events.
Coordinate the annual audit on continuing education compliance.
Coordinate the establishment and meetings of new research working groups.
Assist in the maintenance of the research section of the CAS website including implementing regular content updates.
Provide administrative support as required to the Director of Professional Education and Research.
Required Experiences and Qualifications
Fully accredited four-year undergraduate degree.
Minimum of two years of work experience, preferably in an association/non-profit organization working with association volunteers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in editing documents.
Strong project management skills with a proven ability to plan, track and perform multiple tasks, manage multiple priorities and maintain consistent attention to detail.
Strong service orientation with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in using e-mail communications, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with senior-level business professionals.
Minimal travel required: (5%) of work time expected.
