We are looking to hire an experienced Executive Director to serve multiple clients in different capacities at our Association Management Company. In this role, you will serve as the Director of Leadership and Development, joining an outstanding group of dedicated professionals. You will be responsible for increasing mission activities through effective and successful implementation, and development of strategic plans and new growth strategies. You should have the ability to identify, nurture and execute beneficial innovation which will be accomplished through your leadership, management and growth, and the recruitment and engagement of staff and high level volunteers.
Train staff on association management, governance, administrative and operational integrity, and implementing strategic direction.
Assess association programs and services to develop new opportunities for growth potential, and increase positive customer experiences (member or attendee) to include environmental scans, survey writing, and SWOT analysis.
Develop membership recruitment and retention campaigns focusing on growth, which may include assessing membership benefits, developing budgets and proposals, implementation, analysis and re-evaluation.
Serve as direct liaison with association volunteers or staff members for leadership inquiries such as bylaws, policy and procedures, operational management, legal compliance, risk management and insurance needs, nominations and more.
Oversee daily operations, publications, events, education, information technology and communications.
Ensure all communications are professional and editorial content reflects the current guidelines and positions of the association.
Serve as spokesperson as needed; draft press releases and direct public relations efforts; interact with key media representatives.
Liaise with and participate in board of director and committee meetings.
Work with staff to develop individual plans to accomplish appropriate areas of the association’s strategic plan.
Development of sponsorship's to increase revenue.
Create industry and organizational partnerships in order to increase the exposure of the association in the market.
Increasing brand awareness.
Review and approve contracts for services.
Skills to engage, collaborate with and motivate staff, board members and diverse attendee and volunteer groups.
Have proven track record in strategic management experience, and implementing tactics to meet goals and objectives according to timelines.
Monitor and modify programs and policies to meet changing needs and objectives of the organization.
Strong organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
Fiscal and budget management skills.
Bachelor’s degree required.
A minimum of 7-10 years in executive management with a successful track record in growth.
Association management experience required.
Proven supervisory, leadership, and team building skills.
Strong experience in working with boards, and volunteer recruitment and engagement.
Exemplary oral and written communication skills, as well as presentation and public speaking skills.
Must be able to travel 4-6 times per year; ability to work evenings for local events 3-4 times per year.
CAE is preferred.
This is not a remote position. Must be available to be in NJ office.
