The Nuclear Energy Institute is looking for a Content & Digital Community Specialist. The specialist should be passionate about using social and digital media to build relationships with key stakeholders.
The specialist will be responsible for managing the daily conversations and updates across NEI’s online communities. The incumbent will focus on real-time content creation, encouraging dialogue on owned platforms around NEI’s objectives and imperatives. The specialist will identify and engage with social influencers and communities across ecosystems to drive awareness of and support for nuclear energy. The incumbent will work to align digital content within the framework of NEI’s greater mission, strategy and priorities.
The specialist will work with the Content team to create content derived from larger content strategy.
Develop daily online content for NEI’s social channels and proactively engage with current and new audiences.
React with urgency to negative situations online that have the potential to escalate, and make quick decisions to mitigate those situations.
Daily management of the website, including updates and approvals as necessary.
Conduct web poster trainings for new employees as necessary and run quarterly web poster meetings.
Daily responsibility for the monitoring and replies from the webmaster email account.
Create and disseminate weekly, monthly, six-month and annual analytics reports on all owned channels, and identify data trends.
Develop and present digital media training for members and other stakeholders as needed.
Participate in the organizational emergency response team, including during off-hours if the situation requires it.
Work closely with colleagues across NEI to ensure alignment on messaging.
The successful applicant will have at least two years of experience in creating content for and managing digital media platforms including websites and social media.
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English or public relations.
Experience in energy sector a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must demonstrate the ability to write persuasively, quickly and accurately in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
Outstanding digital media skills including ability to create content for social media and website platforms.
Understanding of and demonstrated ability in employing SEO strategies.
Strong judgment and writing skills are essential; language and tone must align with NEI’s brand voice and discretion must be used based on topic and platform.
Excellent organization and time management skills, ability to work independently, keep track of short- and long-term priorities, and meet deadlines reliably.
Proficiency in multimedia communications platforms and tools. Should be proficient in website content management systems, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram. Experience with video creation and advertising a plus.
Proficiency in digital metrics and reporting, including Google Analytics and native analytics across social media platforms.
Ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency using a range of operating systems, digital platforms and apps. Working knowledge of various software including content management systems, preferably Kentico, and other software including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Basecamp and Adobe Creative Cloud.
